Jonathan ‘ll win 21 states —Kuku

Ahead of next Saturday Presidential election in the country, senior special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger /Delta Affairs and chairman amnesty programme, Honourable Kingsley Kuku has predicted victory for President Jonathan, saying Jonathan will win 21 out of the 36 states.
Kuku stated this at the weekend, during a stakeholders’ meeting with aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of the northern senatorial district of Ondo State, at Owo in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
He called on the members of the party in the state, to sheathe their swords and concentrate on winning the state for President Jonathan and the party, urging them not to give room for the opposition to cash in on the crisis.
Kuku noted that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) had no structure in the state, adding that it would be difficult for APC to have the required 25 per cent in the state.
“With the coming together of the Labour Party and PDP, APC is doomed in this state and that is the reason you must not exclude Ondo state from the victory train,” he said.
In his analysis, Kuku predicted that President Jonathan would win in all the six states in the South-South geo-political zone and five in the South East region, even as he said that four states would be won out of the six staes in the South-West region.
He said a minimum of three states would be won in the North Central and three from the North-East, totalling 21 states, adding that the party would not lose hope in getting a minimum of 25 per cent from the North-West.
He, therefore, appealed to the aggrieved members of PDP in the state, who had been sitting on the fence since the beginning of the party’s campaigns for the general election, to forget the past and join the winning train to work for the success of the party in forthcoming presidential election and other elections.
Speaking earlier, the chieftain of the party in the state, Chief Olusola Oke acknowledged that the impact of the reconciliation meeting had started yielding results across the states, adding that the party would win in all the election.
“The mission is to sensitise our people and preach unity and to complement other efforts to maximise vote in this state for Mr President and all other candidates.
“It’s been very successful, our people have been very receptive and let me assure you that since we commenced this exercise, the response of our people have been very tremendous and encouraging,” he said.
“The nose-diving trend of the fortune of the party in the state has been completely reversed. We can confidently say that the old member of PDP that were disenchanted have become active, interestingly become assured and willing to put in their best to ensure victory of our party and I must say that it has been a rewarding exercise,” Oke said.
Oke said the senatorial mobilisation was not a parallel campaign but part of efforts to strengthen the party in the state, adding, “I’ve been part of the campaign organised under the leadership of the governor. I can confirm to you that a number of our members have refused to be part of that campaign.
“ What we are doing here is to bring on board those who hitherto were not part of the campaign so that we can all work together. What we are doing is complementary to what has been done. We believe that for PDP to have the best result in Ondo state, everybody must be involved.
