Defiant: Tsarnaev was 'determined to be America's worst nightmare', the court heard
Jurors deciding whether the Boston marathon bomber should be
sentenced to death have been shown an image of him giving a jailhouse
camera the middle finger after his arrest.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 21,
made his defiant gesture in his cell as he waited to be arraigned in
court three months after the April 2013 pressure-cooker attack.
Jurors, who convicted Tsarnaev were shown the image as they consider whether he be should executed after carrying the atrocity.

Making their opening statements in the hearing in Boston
prosecutor Nadine Pellegrini told jurors the photo showed Tsarnaev
"unconcerned, unrepentant and unchanged" despite killing three people
and injuring 260 more.
She added he “was determined and destined to be America’s worst nightmare.”
It was then she showed jurors the image taking in his holding cell in July 2013.

Several of his victims have said they do not want to see
Tsarnaev receive a lethal injection however a recent poll showed 53 per
cent of Americans want him sent to the death chamber.
He was
convicted earlier this month of taking part in the attack at the Boston
Marathon finish line which killed Krystle Campbell, 29, Martin Richard,
eight and 23-year-old Lingzi Lu.
He was also convicted of killing police officer Sean Collier
three days after the bombings as he and his older brother Tamerlan tried
to flee.
The older sibling, 26, died following a shootout with police after he was run over by his brother.
The hearing continues.
