The Police Council presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Mr. Solomon Arase, as the substantive Inspector-General of Police.
Jonathan had earlier appointed Arase in acting capacity when he relieved his predecessor, Suleiman Aba, of his appointment.
The Police Council consists of the President, Vice Presidents, all state governors and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission among others.
